Spatial Flow

Team project, 2021

The void leaces an opportunity to interact.

Material : Acrylic box, Wood, Paper, Metal ball, Ink
Type : Installation

In Asian culture, a margin holds greater meaning than a mere blank space; it embodies the space of possibility where the energy flows. It encompasses a visual representation of energy flow within a seemingly blank ‘margin’. Our body parts of the head, hands, and feet are attached on different levels of the body to mutually interact with the space. The body functioning in multilayer in the three-dimensional space creates a complex flow of the space. The invisible flow of energy, with an influence in the unconscious realm, re-establishes the relations between the users and object and user in the space.

The acrylic box positioned at a height of main areas of the body such as hands, feet, and the head contains a metal ball coated with ink. The metal ball paints irregular patterns depending on the movement of the magnet attached to the body part. This pattern remains in the space to visualize the energy flow generated by bodily movements.

A metal ball coated with ink portrays an atypical shape drawn by the magnet attached to the body part.

Each body part experiences varied space within an identical space and time.
